About the Dolphins
The Dolphin classroom provides students with engaging, age-appropriate challenges throughout the day. From circle time to small group activities, students in the Dolphin class are learning continuously through a variety of teaching styles. The teachers nurture their students and bring warmth into the classroom, creating an environment where every child feels welcomed, supported, and safe.
Curriculum & Daily Activities
The Dolphins classroom prepares children for TK through fun, engaging activities and appropriately challenging academics. During daily Circle Time, students discuss the calendar, including the days of the week and months of the year. This time also helps them develop valuable oral language skills as they participate in group discussions and activities.
Students work on a variety of important concepts, including name recognition, counting, sorting, understanding cause and effect, and developing social skills. These activities support both their academic growth and social-emotional development.
The class also explores science through hands-on learning experiences. One exciting project takes place each year when the students incubate chicken eggs and observe the process from day one, learning how a chick develops and hatches.
Through these engaging experiences, your child will receive a hands-on, thoughtfully designed curriculum that helps prepare them for the next phase of their education.
Environment
The Dolphins environment helps prepare them for their next stage of learning. Now they are preparing to move on to our TK program (Sharks) or public school TK. The room is typically divided into various activity centers, each catering to different areas of learning and play. They have spaces to work both independently and together. Their Dramatic Play area rotates around exciting themes every month. And they also have a Safe Place/Cozy Corner where children can go when they need time to reflect on their emotions and support their socioemotional health.
