About the Sea Turtles
Our busiest and fastest crawlers!
Curriculum & Daily Activities
We introduce them to new foods, as per their parents’ instructions. In this class, they learn the fine motor control necessary to eat delicious finger foods.
We artfully guide them through the perils of stranger and separation anxiety. The teachers help increase their communication skills by teaching them sign language.
Environment
Our mobile little ones are offered a challenging yet safe environment to explore promoting their development. We set up their environment to encourage them to strive for the next stage. We display toys and learning materials in an enticing way around the classroom to encourage them to explore. We provide them with safe structures for them to pull up on and cruise around. We carefully guide their first steps.
Sea Turtles are separated from the other babies for the majority of the day so they can explore and be curious without being stepped on or constantly redirected away from newborns.

Why Scripps Exploring Academy?
At Scripps Exploring Academy, our crawlers have a separate classroom. Being apart from the non-mobile babies allows for the crawlers to freely explore their learning environment. This also allows the staff to create a dynamic learning environment for this busier age group. We strive to have excellent parent communication and build strong relationships with our families so we can partner in your child’s development, education, and care.
